Why Women?
Women have been crucial to peace and security in Israel since its founding. As government leaders, activists, and military officials, women use their expertise to create a more secure and democratic Israeli society.
Despite regular exclusion from decision making about foreign policy and security, Israeli women speak out in the media, advocate to male and female policymakers, and take to the streets to voice their concerns. They bring critical issues to the public discourse and offer pragmatic, forward-looking solutions. Thinking beyond a narrow militaristic lens, Israeli women are aware of the full range of issues crucial to long-term peace and prosperity.
Our Focus
- Strengthening women’s influence on the policies and priorities of Israel’s military, as well as their leadership within the armed forces
- Ensuring more women contribute directly to decisions about the future of peace and security in Israel
